In light of recent travel company and airline failures we feel it is of upmost importance that our clients are fully financially protected when they travel with Haslemere Travel and therefore offer every client 100% financial protection, via our trust account.

Haslemere Travel is a member of the Travel Trust Association (TTA) – Q570X. The Travel Trust Association exists in order to protect you, the customer, with 100% financial protection and has been doing so for over 20 years. This means that every penny you pay to us is secured in a trust account and guaranteed by the TTA. Haslemere Travel charges £2.73 per person for every booking, to cover the trust fund guarantee and your 100% financial protection.

All Payments made to us at Haslemere Travel should be made payable to the specially designated trust. Credit Card Payments are automatically deposited into the trust account via electronic processing.

Every TTA member will have a practicing certificate. This certificate will identify the TTA member’s number (Haslemere Travel Q570X), the company to whom all payments should be made and the trustee for that member including the trustee’s address.

Our Travel Protection Plan covers every service, which you as the client, have booked with Haslemere Travel whether it be for transport, accommodation, entertainment or recreation. It involves two aspects, firstly the Trust account operated for your benefit. The money may only be released from the Trust to pay for the services, which you have booked. Secondly, there is further protection from a guarantee, the TTA will guarantee the financial obligation of its members to repay such sum to you for up to a maximum anyone passenger of £11,000. So if you paid £2,000 we guarantee we will reimburse the loss of the £2,000, where it is not available for you from the Trust account.

Therefore, the Trust Account plus the guarantee will ensure that all the money which you have paid is safely protected and available to reimburse the money paid. On top of this Haslemere Travel only works with full bonded and licensed UK tour operators, offering you ATOL cover when you book a package holiday. The ATOL scheme is administered by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The law says your holiday must be protected if it is a package holiday. ATOL (which stands for Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) is a UK financial protection scheme and it protects most air package holidays sold by travel businesses that are based in the UK.   The scheme also applies to some flight bookings, usually those where you book flights (including UK domestic flights) but do not receive your tickets immediately.

ATOL was first introduced in 1973, as the popularity of overseas holidays grew. After a number of high profile travel business failures left people stranded overseas the UK Government realised consumers required protection when their travel providers fell into difficulties. ATOL currently protects around 20 million holidaymakers and travellers each year.

If a travel business with an ATOL ceases trading, the ATOL scheme protects consumers who had booked holidays with the firm. It will support consumers currently abroad and provide financial reimbursement for the cost of replacing parts of an ATOL protected package.

The scheme is designed to reassure consumers that their money is safe, and will provide assistance in the event of a travel business failure.

In conclusion, when you make a booking with Haslemere Travel, we hold your money safely, only to be paid to the suppliers involved with your travel. We do not use your money to pay the bills or help us out with cash flow. Once you money leaves our trust account it is paid to an ATOL bonded company and you are then covered by their protection.
